Tomoko is an older woman who, after her retirement, is sent to Argentina to spread Japanese culture. In the first days of her exchange, which will last a year, she tries to take refuge in the bubble of her community, maintaining her tradition and rituals, but the local scene presents difficulties: few people speak her language and even fewer share her customs. Tomoko feels homesick for her home and her son, Hikaru, whom she tries to call but always finds sleeping. It is up to her to open up to seek another interpretation of her stay to discover the Western charm.

To bridge that distance and give birth to a new one, one must shed everything that weighs them down and become vulnerable. We arrive at the surface, just as we do in love, defenseless.
